Coordinator, The Jewish Fund Youth Foundation Board
The Jewish Fund, created in 1997 from the sale proceeds of Sinai
Hospital, awards health and welfare grants totaling nearly $3M
annually. The Fund has assets of over $60 M. Their website is www.

The newly launched Youth Foundation Board will engage Jewish
high school students in a multi-year program to become grant
makers. The youth board aims to empower Jewish teens with tools
and resources to problem solve in their community through strategic
philanthropy. The grant making priorities and methods will be
consistent with that of The Jewish Fund and the annual grant making
budget will be $50,000.
The Coordinator, reporting to the Executive Director, will be
responsible for planning, developing and implementing the Youth
Foundation Board of The Jewish Fund. This is a part-time position.
Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the Executive Director to develop the overall planning for
the youth foundation board, its curriculum, and experiential learning activities.
• Implement and oversee the recruitment, marketing and interview process
for applicants.
• Plan and execute all teen meetings, site visits and activities.
• Facilitate the development of an empowered and engaged teen board.
• Act as liaison between the youth foundation board and all relevant
community organizations.
• Develop outcomes and an evaluation method for the board's work on an
annual basis.
Skills and Competencies:
• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in related field.
• Professional and/or volunteer experience in teen engagement, programming
and/or education.
• Knowledge of Jewish values and Jewish culture; informal Jewish education
background preferred.
• Competent to work independently as well as with a team.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including speaking and writing skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Knowledge of the non-profit field and philanthropic practices, a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
