He was an owner of Salasnek Fisheries, a wholesale fish process- ing and packing plant in Detroit, founded by his Salasnek grandfather in 1891. Mr. Salasnek is survived by his wife of 59 years, Beverly Salasnek; son, Jordan Salasnek of Arizona; daughters and sons- in-law, Karre and Michael Pickens of West Bloomfield, and Dana and Arthur Tillman of Massachusetts; grandchildren, Reed Salasnek, Dean Salasnek, Andie Salasnek, Mindy and Joshua Balonick, Joseph Pickens, Jacqueline Tillman and Gabrielle Tillman; great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Brooke Balonick; sister, Suzanne Mendelsohn; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard and Florence Abel. GARY SOLE, 72, of Bloomfield Hills and Delray Beach, Fla., died Nov. 25, 2013, after a courageous battle against pancreatic cancer. He died as he wished, at home, holding hands Sole with Carol, his beloved wife of 46 years, and surrounded by his adoring sons, Marc and Jay. He loved noth- ing more than his wife; children; daughters- in-law, Pamela and Meryl Sole; and grand- children, Annabelle, Lucy and Carly Sole. Born in Brooklyn in 1941, he was a proud graduate of Erasmus Hall High School before coming to Michigan to attend Michigan State University, from which he graduated in 1963. I would like to extend my sincerest thanks and gratitude to all my friends and family during this difficult time. Your support and thoughtfulness has helped to ease the pain of my profound loss.
