ORT educates over
300,000 students around

the world every day.

t he ORT Michigan Region's big annual fundraiser,
Rub-a-Dub. This year over 450 attendees
generated hundreds of thousands of dollars for the
international ORT network of programs.
But Rub-a-Dub is only one of many ways ORT
America raises money for these innovative educational
programs, administered by World ORT in London,
that serves over 300,000 students a day across five
continents.
A sterling example of how ORT America does this is
the Kadima Mada (Science Journey) program in Israel.
In 2007, a call went out to help Israel repair its science
and math education.
ORT America's donors responded enthusiastically to
this venture, funding dozens of what are called "Smart
Classrooms" throughout Israel's "periphery," such as in
the Negev and the Galilee. Our donors also extended
Kadima Mada into the
country's pediatric hospitals to help hospitalized children continue
their education through tutoring and distance-learning.
Today, Israeli science and math education ranks among the best
in the world.
And this is just the tip of the ORT iceberg! I haven't told you
about the award-winning schools in Buenos Aires, our three
top-notch ORT colleges, the 27,000 ORT students throughout
the countries of the Former Soviet Union, or our own David B.
Hermelin ORT Resource Center in partnership with JVS. You can
discover all of this on the ORT America website or contact me
directly.
Our donors continue to invest in an ORT education because
ORT continues to make an immediate and significant impact on
