Jeff Barker Homes

Jeff & Matt

From generation to generation, our commitment to exceed
our clients' expectations continues.

E

thics and in-
tegrity are the
cornerstone of
this father-and-son
real estate team. Jeff
Barker, an associate
broker with Max
Broock Realtors for
15 years, is in the
top 1 percent of
Realtors nationally.
Matt entered into
the business as his
partner last year.
"It is the thrill
of my life to spend
each day with my
son and best friend,"
Jeff said. "We
have always been
extremely close in
our relationship,
which is the founda-
tion for us working
seven days a week
Jeff and Matt Barker
together."
Matt received his
real estate license five years ago at the age
of 18 and went on to earn a bachelor's of
arts degree in economics from Michigan
State University. He recently passed the
state broker's license exam.
"I have someone that I trust completely
with our clients and that provides them
with the highest level of service in the
industry," Jeff said. "I am so proud when I
receive compliments from clients and other
Realtors about my son's professionalism.
He has established himself in a very short
period of time and has become successful
in his own right."
Added Matt, "It's a chance to be an en-
trepreneur and take ownership of my own
business. My Dad and I have a competition
to see who can find the perfect house for
our buyers first."
Matt's social media and Internet market-
ing skills add the essential elements critical

in today's real estate business.
Both Jeff and Matt's desire to help oth-
ers is clearly reflected in their approach to
business. Jeff often sums up his philosophy
by saying, "No one deal will ever change
my lifestyle. What is most important to me
is maintaining my reputation and always
placing my clients' interests first. I enjoy
helping people, and I'm compassionate
with my clients. I'm able to be there for my
clients who are going through major life-
changing experiences."
Matt has adopted his father's philosophy
and is quick to say that he "has learned
from the best."
"I have told my son that he needs to be
able to put his head on the pillow at night
with a clear conscience. I want to be a
great role model for how business should
be conducted. Never worry about the
commission; if you do a great job and are

honest, the success
will follow," Jeff
said. "We operate
from the heart."
Jeff added, "I
believe successful
real estate agents
are not determined
based on sales
volume alone, but
on their reputation
with their col-
leagues and clients.
It's important to
have a strong rela-
tionship with other
Realtors; it takes
both sides to get to
the closing table. I
don't look at them
as my competitors."
Ninety percent of
the Barkers' busi-
ness comes from
referrals, a strong
testimony to their
proven track re-
cord. When they counsel potential clients,
they advocate choosing an agent who is
committed to the profession full-time.
Clients should request a record of an
agent's recently sold properties as well as a
list of references. Jeff and Matt recommend
above all else that clients choose a profes-
sional they trust.
"Our highest honor is having assisted five
of our local rabbis with their real estate
transactions. I feel that is the strongest
testimonial to our character that we could
ever aspire to. It is a supreme compliment
to be referred from one rabbi to another,"
Jeff said.
Jeff, his wife, Liz, Matt and his two
sisters, who attend University of Michigan,
are members at Temple Israel. Contact

homes.
