"We wanted a true gathering room, with no TV, where we could be
together as a family, to talk, read and relax," says the homeowner of
the wide-open white-washed great room with a soaring 19-foot cornice-
detailed ceiling. Henredon armchairs are covered in silk; the pillows
are embroidered with the couple's monogram. A floral print dusts the
floor on the bottom of the custom silk drapery, which covers the arched
windows, a design echoed throughout the home. A cleaner-lined version
of the living room's fireplace brings an easier sophistication to the room;
the menorah on the mantel was a wedding gift. Above, a pewter and gold-
toned mirror was snatched up at Costco.
