She was a principal in her family business, Perfection Automotive Products, started by her father and later Ash joined by her late hus- band, Jerome. Mrs. Ash joined the busi- ness at the age of 19 and was a thought- ful partner for 45 years, helping to shape the direction of the business, a rare role for a woman in her day. Her biggest passions were her fam- ily, her business and Temple Beth El. She attended every board meeting at Temple Beth El for the last 30 years. She supported many of the temple's endeavors and charitable efforts and was active in the Arts Committee and the Historical Archives Committee. Beyond Temple Beth El, Mrs. Ash was active in the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit and many other Jewish causes. She was passionate about art and was a collector of many different types from classical glass and pottery to Native American folk art to contemporary glass. While she appreciated the beauty, understanding the stories behind the art was of equal importance to her as well as connecting with the artists and the entire artistic community. She was also an avid Detroit Tigers fan. Mrs. Ash is survived by her son, Norman D. Ash of Birmingham; grand- children, Justin Ash and Marissa Ash; former daughter-in-law, Diane Ash; Norman's partner, Pam Dangovian. She was the beloved wife of the late Jerome M. Ash.
