KUHEL, 86, of

Southfield,
died Oct. 20,
2013.
Captain of
his high school
swim team, Dr.
Kuhel
Kuhel became
a Seaman 1st
Class and sonar and radar spe-
cialist in the Navy during World
War II. He received Letters of
Medicine and graduated from
University of Michigan first in
undergraduate and then medi-
cal school.
He belonged to Phi Delta
Epsilon Fraternity.
The first intern at Sinai
Hospital, he became a pediatri-
cian and allergist and was also
on staff at Children's Hospital
of Michigan along with hav-
ing offices in Southfield. He
was a member of Congregation
Shaarey Zedek.
Dr. Kuhel is survived by
his wife of more than 59
years, Reva Kuhel; sons and
daughters-in-law, Barry Kuhel
of Southfield, Dr. William and
Alexandra Kuhel of New York,
and Dr. Alan and Beth Kuhel
of Beachwood, Ohio; daughter
and son-in-law, Sandra and
Jonathan Tukel of Orchard
Lake; grandchildren, Albert,
Philip, Ryan and Talia Kuhel,
Steven, Henry and Andy Tukel;
brother-in-law and sister-
in-law, Eugene and Cherna
Kowalsky; sister-in-law, Betty
Stasson.
Dr. Kuhel was the cherished
brother-in-law of the late
Jerome Stasson; and the dear
brother of the late Ruth Young.
Interment was at Clover Hill
Park Cemetery.
