Rascals Musical Set As JARC's Fall Fundraiser j ARC, an organization serv- ing people with disabili- ties, is featuring the popu- lar Broadway show The Rascals: Once Upon a Dream to Michigan as its 33rd annual fall fundraiser. The show will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, at the Fox Theatre in Downtown Detroit. More than 3,500 guests are anticipated to join event chairs David Haron and Janis Shulman, both of Farmington Hills, and Scott Werner of Birmingham for this rocking per- formance. It's created, produced and directed by musician/actor Steven Van Zandt and lighting/projection wizard Marc Brickman. "The show will be an uplifting inspiration for the fans that have been waiting all these years, praying for a Rascals comeback, and those who are younger will get a real taste of the '60s they missed the first time around," Van Zandt said. New to this year's fall fundraiser is a special matching gift challenge. Any new donation or gift increase from JARC's 2012 fall fundraiser performance of Cirque Dreams will be matched dollar for dollar by the Michelle and David Carroll Matching Gift Challenge in memory of David's father, Bill Carroll. "Both Michelle and David Carroll have been an important part of JARC for many years, and we are honored to keep the memory of David's father alive through this year's challenge said Rick Loewenstein, JARC CEO.
