Chesterfield, died
Sept. 14, 2013.
She was a teacher,
and a past president
of the sisterhood
of Beth Tephilath
Emerson
Moses, a past sec-
retary and treasurer of the congrega-
tion, an active member of the sister-
hood of Congregation Beth Shalom
and the Pomegranate Guild.
Mrs. Emerson was a volunteer with
Interfaith Care Givers, an active mah
jong player and she loved to knit and
read.
Mrs. Emerson is survived by her
husband of 37 years, Brian Emerson;
daughters and sons-in-law, Rachel
and Michael Gurtowsky of Dexter,
Mich., Rebeccah and Erik Johnson
of South Range, Mich.; brother
and sister-in-law, Dan and Jacque
Weindruch of Granger, Ind.; sister,
Donna Weindruch of Las Vegas, Nev.;
grandchildren, Kameron Johnson,
Kolby Johnson.

Mr. Grossman was the beloved
husband of the late Krana Grossman;

Dina Igielski; many loving cousins,
friends and co-workers.
Mrs. Hart was the beloved wife of
the late Sol Goldek, the late Henry
Igielski and the late Gene Hart.

She is survived by

Nora Feinberg, Pamela (Don) Tanner,
Dr. Harvey (Sheila) Feinberg; many
loving great-nieces, great-nephews,
other family members and friends.

place at the Machpelah Cemetery in
Ferndale. Arrangements by Dorfman

ANTONIA N.
"TONI" HOFFMAN,
71, of East Lansing,
died Sept. 2, 2013.
There are a few
people in this world
who possess that
rare gift of being
able to brighten
our lives with laughter and make
dark days easier to bear. Such people
should be celebrated, for they are the
ones who remind us how to smile.
Such a one was Toni Hoffman.
She was born April 26, 1942,
to Nicholas and Lottie Dertouzos
in Detroit. She was a graduate of
Mumford High School and Wayne State
University. Toni taught elementary
school before moving to East Lansing.
In 1965, following graduation from
Wayne State, she married Aaron
Hoffman, a marriage that lasted 48
years. The two left for a year's journey
to Europe, ending in Greece. Aaron
taught at the university in Athens
while Toni began her new life giving
birth to their first daughter, Karla.
The following year, Toni and Aaron
returned to East Lansing to start a
floor covering venture with Aaron's
brother Larry. Toni and Aaron's fam-
ily grew with the birth of their son,
Stephan, and daughter, Nicole. The
love of her life was her family. She
combined work and motherhood and
began working as a judicial secretary for
