Courtney Taylor Newman, daughter of Marcy and Alan Newman and sister of Brendan, will read from the Torah at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield Saturday, Sept. 21, as she celebrates her bat mitzvah. Her proud grandpar- ents are Sheila Eisenberg, Lorraine and Robert Zack, and Cookie and Sy Newman Newman. She is also the grandchild of the late Burt Eisenberg. Courtney attends West Hills Middle School in Bloomfield Hills. She participated in a portion of the 55-mile bike ride and raised funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which she felt was an important mitzvah experience. Logan Storm Frawley, son of Rachel and Thomas Frawley, will lead the congregation in prayer as he cele- brates his bar mitzvah Friday, Sept. 20, at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield. He is the brother of Aria and Sedona and the grandchild of Gail and David Caplan, Paula Wunder and Frawley the late Thomas Frawley. Logan is a student at Clifford Smart Middle School in Commerce Township. He felt his most meaningful mitzvah project was helping with a senior Shabbat at Temple Israel. Jackson Samuel Partrich will cele- brate his bar mitzvah at Congregation Shaarey Zedek in Southfield on Saturday, Sept. 21. He is the son of Samantha and Ross Partrich and the brother of Tatum and Ari. Sharing in the simchah will be proud grandpar- ents Sheila and Miles Hurwitz, and Partrich Myrna and Spencer Partrich. Jackson is in the eighth grade at Hillel Day School of Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington Hills. He helped organize a student-faculty baseball game at his school last spring to raise money for JARC homes, where he and his classmates volunteered throughout the school year.
