ADVERTISEMENT Fun, Food & Friends New Happy's Pizza and Pub offers more than just great pizza. H appy's Pizza delivers more than just great pizza. With the opening of the Happy's Pizza and Pub in West Bloomfield, Happy's is now delivering great pizza, spirits, sports matchups, service and much more to customers at the brand new full-service restaurant. The Pub opened at 7170 Orchard Lake Road in West Bloomfield in late July, and it's far from your typical pizzeria. Happy's Pizza and Pub still serves the traditional and delicious pizza that Happy's is known for, but the Pub also features new items on an extensive menu, offering everything from grilled salmon to Samuel Adams beer-battered fish and chips, hand-pattied burgers, spe- cialty dinner salads and a full bar. "We couldn't be more excited to open a Happy's Pizza and Pub right here in Metro Detroit," says Jason Curis, co-CEO for Happy's Pizza. "Detroit is one of the best sports cities in the U.S. Now our customers will have the option of ordering in or coming down to the Pizza and Pub, where they can enjoy a great atmosphere while still eating the same delicious food." Designed to be a sports fan's paradise, the Pub has over 40 60-inch flat screen TVs and two 140-inch pro- jectors — which will always be tuned in to the biggest sports matchups of the day. TVs line every wall of the Pub, and viewers can also enjoy the big game from a beautiful indoor-outdoor patio area. Michigan sports fans can feel right at home at the Pub, which is filled with sports memorabilia from the Detroit Lions, Tigers, Pistons and Red Wings, as well as items from in-state rivals Michigan State and the University of Michigan. All of the Pub's signed paraphernalia comes from players who have visited the restaurant, so cus- tomers shouldn't be surprised to run into a Lions player or two over dinner. Pub Manager Bobby Dalou describes the res- taurant as a sports bar, but explained that it's a great family-friendly restaurant that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. "Yes, there's great pizza here, but it's also a full-service restaurant and a great place for people to meet and get together." Dalou, a Chaldean who grew up in Oak Park, says customer service and community are his first priorities at the Pub. "We wanted to make this a place where the entire West Bloomfield community — Chaldeans, Jews and everyone else — can come, mingle together and become friendly, regardless of their background," Dalou said. "We've created a place where we can all come together." "One of the ladies came up to me and says, 'You know, Bobby, there's a place near here that does $3 glasses of house wine. Can you do anything about that?" DALOU COULD AND HE DID. The Pub now has $3 house wine everyday from 3-7p.m. — At Happy's Pizza and Pub, every hour is happy hour! The restaurant features a new food special every day and dif- ferent entertainment each night. Monday Night Football is hosted by former Detroit Lions player Lomas Brown, customers can test their brainpower on Trivia Tuesdays, enjoy karaoke on Wednesdays, have a ladies night out on Thursdays, listen to live bands play on Friday and/or Saturday nights and enjoy a DJ on Sunday nights. Each activity is paired with a food special, detailed in the banner below. One of the biggest draws for Ladies Night on Thursdays is the $5 martini special, including the S'mores Martini. The martini is made with whipped cream vodka, plenty of chocolate liqueurs and topped off with a marshmallow — one of the countless specialty drinks offered at the Pub. Happy's Pizza and Pub carries a large variety of liquors, in addition to the 36 beers on tap (17 that are brewed in Michigan), bottled beers and wine. The Pub will expand its wine selection in the near future, including some from Israel. But pizza is still king at Happy's Pizza and Pub. Every pie is double-baked, resulting in a perfectly cooked crust that is irresistible. Customers can choose from 14 spe- cialty pizzas or can opt to build their own. The Pub has much more than just pie on the menu, though, which features over 150 items, including two distinctively Jewish selections: chicken noodle soup and Sy Ginsberg corned beef and pastrami. Other customer favorites include the grilled salmon dinner, sliders, Michigan cherry salad, veggie pizza and wings, which come with a large variety of sauces. Happy's promotes a family atmosphere by offering a menu that can feed a family of four for $20, so you can't go wrong no matter what you choose to order. And there are plenty of locations to choose from. Happy's Pizza was founded in northeast Detroit in 1996. The company has now grown to more than 100 locations across the United States. The first Happy's Pizza and Pub opened in Mount Pleasant in March, and the company plans to open additional Pubs in the Metro Detroit area. Happy's Pizza and Pub is open 11 a.m.- 2 p.m., seven days a week. For information, call (248) 406-5555 or visit happyspizzapub.com . September 19 • 2013 21
