Ingham County Circuit Court for the
Hon. George Economy, a career that
lasted 28 years until her retirement
this last April.
Toni lived an active, fun and
certainly unconventional life. She
participated in both the Jewish
and Greek Orthodox communities,
traditionally celebrating all the
holidays — Christmas, Chanukah,
Easter and Passover — with pas-
sion, excitement, balloons and
sprays of confetti. She was famous
for combining her recipes for egg
lemon soup with matzah balls and
rice pudding which were always
served with dignity, grace and
style.
Friends, family and even
acquaintances considered Toni to
be their best friend. She took the
time to care and listen and offer
sound advice when needed. People
looked forward to coming to the
courthouse "just to see Toni." Her
infectious smile and hearty laugh-
ter will be images and sounds that
even eternity won't fade. It is no
wonder that she had trained to
be a volunteer counselor at Ele's
Place, a project that she was to
start this fall.
Mrs. Hoffman is survived by her
husband, Aaron Hoffman; beloved
children, Karla Goetz (Jeff Nester)
of Roscommon, Mich., Stephan
(Silva) Hoffman of Northville, and
Lt. Commander Nicole Hoffman,
USN of San Diego, Calif.; lov-
ing grandchildren, Alexander,
Gabriel and Jacob Hoffman; dear
brother, Michael (Jean) Dertouzos;
other dear family and beloved
friends who are left to cherish her
memory.
Contributions may be made
to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox
Church or Ele's Place.
