DR. ROBERT ALAN BLOOM, died Aug.
30, 2013.
Born in Detroit, Aug. 2, 1936, Dr. Bloom
was the son of Dr. Albert Bloom and Mrs.
Belle (Briskman) Bloom. He attended
Mumford High School (class of 1953) and
Wayne State University, where he eventu-
ally received his M.D. degree (class of
1962). Dr. Bloom then took his internship
at Mount Zion Hospital, San Francisco,
at which time he met his future wife,
Margaret Lotti Gross of New York.
Dr. Bloom' s training was interrupted
for two years as he served as a captain in
the Army Medical Corps, stationed in Fort
Hood, Texas. He then completed his diag-
nostic radiology and radiotherapy residen-
cy training at Mount Sinai Hospital, New
York, and accepted a private practice posi-
tion on Long Island as part of Weber and
Bloom P.C., until his retirement in 1997.
Dr. Bloom was known as a compassion-
ate and skilled physician, who remained
dedicated to his profession even after
retirement, maintaining his medical
license for several more years.
Dr. Bloom is survived by his wife of 50
years, Margie; sister, Susan Smith; sons,
David, Jeffrey, Howard; daughters-in-law,
Amy (Sklar), Ellen (Schneider), Ellen
(Meyers); grandchildren, Ryan, Eric,
Joshua, Allison, Melissa, Kyle and Leah.

LILYAN FINER, 100, of
West Bloomfield, died
Aug. 27, 2013.
She is survived by her

Alan and Dorene Finer
of West Bloomfield;
grandchildren, Jennifer
(Jonathan) Lovy, Shelley
(Kevin) Weingarden; great-grandchildren,
Brandon, Noah, Evan, Avery, Zachary and
Jessica.
Mrs. Finer was the beloved wife of the
late Charles Finer; the sister of the late
Ruth (the late Morrey) Gould, the late
Herman (the late Mary) Salter, the late
Louis (the late Clara) Saltman, the late
Max (the late Frances) Saltman and the
late Sarah (the late Max) Weisblott.

Interment took place at the Adat Shalom

EDITH GARSON, 86, of Franklin, died

CHARLES "CHUCK"
GERSH, 70, of Ann
Arbor, died Sept. 4,
2013.
He was a carpet
manufacturer's repre-
sentative. He was also
a contract musician
Gersh
for Motown, where he
played for the Supremes, Marvin Gaye,
Smokey Robinson and the Miracles,
Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, and
Stevie Wonder.
Mr. Gersh is survived by his wife,
Andrea Gersh; daughter, Geniene Gersh
and partner, Jolinda Lucas; son, Jeffrey
Gersh; granddaughter, Emily Ann Cusick-
Gersh; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law,
Douglas and Kim Rosengarten, and
Maryanne Kolar.
He was the dear brother-in-law of the
late Paul Rosengarten.
Interment was at Arborcrest Cemetery.
