Brotherhood from page 46
shows Yusuf al-Quaradawi, an Egyptian
Islamic scholar and spiritual leader associ-
ated with the Muslim Brotherhood, telling
National Security Council staffers at the
White House: "We will conquer Europe;
we will conquer America! Not through
sword, but through dawah [proselytizing
on behalf of Islam]."
Of course, the Brotherhood hatched
Israel archenemy Hamas, which rules the
Gaza Strip, to terrorize the Jewish state.
Yet, the U.S. government continues to
engage the Brotherhood, tottering as it is
in Egypt, while limiting FBI, Department
of Homeland Security and other law
enforcement probes into its activities, says
Emerson.
At The Core
Page 7 of the 18-page Explanatory
Memorandum should send shivers
through every civilized person, Muslim
or otherwise. Under the heading
"Understanding the Role of the Muslim
Brother in North America" is the declara-
tion that the Brotherhood's work here
"is a kind of grand jihad in eliminating
and destroying the Western civilization
from within and sabotaging its miserable
house by their hands and the hands of
the believers, so that it is eliminated and
God's religion is made victorious over all
other religions:'
The document goes on: "Without this
level of understanding, we are not up
to this challenge and have not prepared
ourselves for jihad yet. It is a Muslim's
destiny to perform jihad and work wher-
ever he is and wherever he lands until the
final hour comes, and there is no escape
from that destiny except for those who
choose to slack:'
Essentially, the strategy for destroy-
ing the U.S. is to indoctrinate North
American government leaders so they
impose the Brotherhood narrative on
their citizens — namely, civilization
jihad.
The document concludes with a list of
29 Brotherhood-affiliated Islamic organi-
zations in North America, a sort of front-
line propaganda force, as of 1991.
While jihad will derive from allied
efforts among believers, the Brotherhood
will provide the leadership, direction and
support, according to the document.
Digging Deeper
In writing about the film, the online
publication The Thinker stated: "What
is surprising is the film's exposure of the
extent to which the Muslim Brotherhood
has infiltrated so many influential aspects
of our society:'
Such infiltration includes trying to
hoodwink the news media; claiming
Islamophobia; deploying political cam-
ouflage to help push the militant effects
of Islamism; and masking the Islamist
currency of dominance as a defense
against intolerance of all Muslims, not
just Islamists.
Continuing its analysis of the
Brotherhood, The Thinker adds:
"Through the establishment of a compli-
cated network of front groups seemingly
legitimate on their face, the group has
gained respectability without account-
ability and successfully camouflaged its
true agenda of destroying Western civili-
zation from within:'
That network continues to offer
humanitarian assistance and support as a
means of deflecting suspicion. But make
no mistake: A common dream among
a troubling number of believers is real-
izing the caliphate under shariah law
— and achieving that end through clever
manipulation of democratic values and
freedoms.
Coming To Grips
Clearly, the Brotherhood's objective to
infiltrate North American society forges
ahead today, seemingly not as high of a
-
g 4 Washington concern as
it should be.
By giving Yusuf al-
Quaradawi a White
House audience,
for example, thus
extending legitimacy,
Washington is in effect
helping advance the
Yusuf al-
Quaradawi
"grand deception" of
the Brotherhood's'
"jihad in America:'
Emerson's painstakingly researched
film provides a wakeup call to just how
far the Muslim Brotherhood has moved
along the arduous path toward its ulti-
mate goal of creating a global Islamic
state.
That vision may be hard to imagine.
But diminishing it isn't the right tack.
When you see U.S. Attorney General
Eric Holder in the film repeatedly recoil
during 2010 House Judiciary Committee
testimony when asked to acknowledge
the concept of radical Islam, you begin
to grasp our government's utter miscar-
riage of justice in how it treats a political
adversary whose intentions are devious,
daunting and dangerous. ❑
