Wine & Dine in the D
Fights Multiple Myeloma
The third
annual Wine
& Dine in
the D, an
evening of
gourmet
food, fine
wine and
jazz music,
Sid Moss and Dr.
will take
Jeffrey Margolis
over the
Woodward
Ballroom of the Westin Book Cadillac
Hotel in Downtown Detroit on
Thursday night, Sept. 19.
The event benefits the Multiple
Myeloma Research Foundation
(MMRF), which is committed to accel-
erating the development of treatments
for the incurable blood cancer.
The idea for Wine & Dine in the
D came from its founder, Bloomfield
Township resident Sid Moss, who has
the disease and credits MMRF for pro-
viding him, and other patients, with a
quality of life that wasn't attainable prior
to the foundation's research.
The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m.
with a roundtable presentation by Dr.
Jeffrey Margolis, president of Michigan
Healthcare Professionals, PC; Dr. Jeffrey
Zonder of the Karmanos Cancer Institute;
Dr. Daniel Couriel of the University of
Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center;
and Joan Levy, MMRF director of transi-

tional research and others.
The wining and dining begins at 6:30
and includes specialties from some of
Metro Detroit's top restaurants. Local
Michigan wineries and microbrewer-
ies will be featured, as well as boutique
wines from around the world.
Detroit jazz artists Ursula Walker and
the Buddy Budson Quintet will provide
the entertainment.
Tickets are $175 each, or $275 for
a patron ticket, which allows the pur-
chaser to attend the afterglow reception.
Special reduced-rate tickets are available
for multiple myeloma patients. To pur-
chase tickets, visit WineAndDineintheD.
com or contact Michele MacWilliams at
(248) 625-0070.
