READER MINI REVIEW
... by Susan Sherbow ...
"Cafe Via on East Maple,
Birmingham, is a wonderful
place for a pleasant, relaxing
lunch. It is an American bistro
fashioned after those in Europe with seat-
ing inside or outside in a tented courtyard
for year-round dining.
"One of Mark's and my favorites is the
tomato bisque, a light cream soup with a
vibrant tomato flavor. It is served with a
grilled cheese sliver for dunking.
"Another favorite is the Werp Farm
Beet Salad with roasted beets on a bed
of greens, surrounded by crumpled goat
cheese and pine nuts. The orange vinai-
grette dressing on this salad was a great
citrus touch.
"We also enjoyed the shrimp taco, which
is filled with grilled shrimp, mango salad,
smoked paprika sour cream, chili slaw and
a poblano verde, all creating a delicious
spicy and sweet combination."

aware that the former Seros restaurant
that was extremely popular with seniors
and many others has a new owner. We
were very impressed with the new menu
at R Family Restaurant. I believe the many
seniors and others who were the heart of
Seros saw the change that followed it and
do not know that there is now a new excel-
lent restaurant in the same location." ...
