12 anchovy fillets packed in oil,
drained
1 tsp. hot pepper sauce, such as
Tabasco (optional)
salt and pepper to taste
2 Tbsp. fresh chopped flat-leaf
parsley, garnish

Heat oil and garlic in a medium
saucepan over medium heat. Cook
the garlic for about 8 minutes,
until beginning to brown. Add the
anchovies to the pot, and cook stirring
often for about 5 minutes. Add the
hot pepper sauce and salt and pepper
to taste. Keep warm until ready to
serve. To serve, transfer the bagna
cauda to a fondue pot or to a warm
bowl. Sprinkle with parsley just before
serving. 8-12 servings.

CHICKEN LETTUCE
WRAPS
2 Tbsp. peanut oil
3 /4 lb. cooked (boiled, baked or
grilled) boneless and skinless chick-
en breasts, chopped
1 cup chopped water chestnuts
(canned is fine)
2 Tbsp. soy sauce
1 Tbsp. brown sugar
1 Tbsp. fresh lime juice
1 tsp. minced garlic
1 tsp. grated fresh ginger

1 /2 tsp. red pepper flakes
iceberg lettuce leaves
sweet chili sauce (optional)

Heat skillet over medium-high until
hot. Add all the ingredients except
the lettuce leaves and chili sauce to
the skillet, and saute until hot. Serve
spooned into lettuce leaves, with extra
soy sauce and sweet chili sauce if
desired. 8 servings.

PEACH AND FRESH
CHERRY SALSA
Serve the salsa with tortilla chips,
tacos or anything you desire.
1 cup chopped fresh peaches (or 1
peach, whichever is greater)
1 cup chopped fresh pitted
cherries
3 Tbsp. fresh lemon or lime juice
3 scallions, cut into 2-inch pieces
1 /2 cup cilantro leaves
1 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. lime zest
1-2 tsp. hot red pepper sauce, such
as Tabasco
salt to taste

Huntington Woods, often hear-
ing stories about her parents'
first apartment in Downtown Detroit.
Neighbors of the late Marilyn and Harvey
Berman gained fame as members of the
Supremes and the Temptations.
The couple's only child came into her
own professionally by working in the arts.
While her playwriting credits include

Hunting and Gathering and My New Best
Friend, she also wrote the memoir No Place
Like Home: A Memoir in 39 Apartments,
about her journey to find a place to call
home as she pursued her career.
A new play, 1300 Lafayette East, soon
to be polished with the help of an Ann
Arbor audience, uses her parents' early
residence as a starting point.
A staged reading with actors will be
held at 7 p.m. Wednesday July 24, fol-
lowed by a talk-back to gather feedback
for the playwright, at Performance
Network Theatre, where the work
becomes part of the company's Fireside
New Play Festival.
