MURRY KANER, 83, of West
Bloomfield, died June 29, 2013.
He is survived by his beloved
wife, Frances Kaner; sons and
daughter-in-law, Stuart Kaner of
Phoenix, Ariz., Roy and Leslie
Kaner of Farmington Hills; daugh-
ters and son-in-law, Devra and
Steve Goldberg of Farmington
Hills, Michelle Kaner of Keego
Harbor; grandchildren, Leah and
Sonya Kaner, Tiffany (John) Dowdy,
Benjamin and Adam Failer, Jacob
Goldberg, Alex Kaner; great-grand-
children, Brenden, Nathan, Joshua.
Contributions may be made to the
American Diabetes Association, the
American Heart Association or to
a charity of one's choice. Interment
took place at Machpelah Cemetery in
Ferndale. Arrangements by Dorfman
Chapel.

THEODORE ROSS,
88, of Chicago, for-
merly of Detroit,
died June 28, 2013.
A retired kosher
butcher, Mr. Ross
was a member of
B'nai B'rith, the
Shriners and was
a 32nd Degree
Mason. He also loved to square
dance. An Army veteran of World
War II, he guarded Tokyo Rose.
Mr. Ross is survived by his daugh-
ters and son-in-law, Susan and
Gary Greenberg of Highland Park,
Ill., Sharon Matlen of Farmington
Hills, Gail Pitman of Nixa, Mo.; sis-
ter, Helen Pliskow; grandchildren,
Brooke Greenberg, Dr. Lisa Matlen,
Stacey Matlen, Michael Wolf, Bryan
Wolf; many loving nieces, nephews,
other relatives and friends.
Mr. Ross was the beloved hus-
band of the late Betty Ross; dear
brother and brother-in-law of the
late Florence and the late Jack Keys,
the late Herbert Ross, the late Milton
and the late Arleen Ross, the late
Sanford Pliskow.

West Bloomfield,
Michigan, died June
28, 2013.
He was an
auto mechanic
and owner of
Morrie's Sunoco in

Southfield.
Mr. Schwartz is survived by
his wife of 20 years, Sara Welton
Schwartz; son, Gary Schwartz;
Sarah's children, Leslie and Lynn
Welton, Michael and Joyce Welton,
Amy and Larry Bernstein, and their
children; grandchildren, Angela and
Michael Stephanson, Katie Welton,
Hannah Welton, Jennifer Bernstein
and Mayah Bernstein; sister, Rhoda
Ziss; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-
law, Marilyn and Leon Belin, and
Gloria and Leonard Brozgold; many
loving nieces and nephews.
Mr. Schwartz was the beloved hus-
band of the late Eleanor Schwartz;
the cherished brother and brother-
in-law of the late Laura and the late
Simon Carpman, and the late Max
Ziss.
Interment was at Beth El
Memorial Park. Contributions may

LOUIS CHARLES
SIMON, 94, of Oak
Park, died June 27,
2013.
An Army veteran
of World War II, he
served with Gen.
Patton, participated
in the Battle of the
Bulge and helped
liberate Buchenwald concentration
camp.
Mr. Simon is survived by his wife
of 58 years, Roslyn Simon; daughters
and son-in-law, Lynn and Gregory
Empey of Glendale, Ariz., Ronna Joy
Simon of Jackson, Wyo.; grandson,
Eron Samuel Sherman.
Contributions may be made to
a charity of one's choice. Services
and interment were held at Hebrew
Memorial Park. Arrangements by
Hebrew Memorial Chapel.
