metro >> around town Shabbat In The Sun Adat Shalom to host its second family-friendly service and barbecue. T he first "Shabbat in the Sun" program June 14 at Adat Shalom Synagogue was so much fun that the synagogue will hold another one. Adat Shalom welcomes families from throughout the community to attend on Friday, July 12, at the playground of the Farmington Hills synagogue. The musical Shabbat will begin at 5:45 p.m. Hazzan Dan Gross, Rabbi Rachel Shere and Dan Shere will lead the group in family-friendly Shabbat music and dance. A hot dog (and veggie dog) barbecue supper with all the fixings will follow. Bring a blanket or use one of the synagogue's picnic tables. After dinner, families are invited to hang out, shoot some hoops and play on the playground. Families of all ages are welcome. There is a $3/person charge or $15/family maximum.
