Race Car Fundraiser Aids
Karmanos Melanoma Research

The speed aficionados of 3Balls Racing
are hosting an open track weekend June
29-30 at Gingerman Raceway in South
Haven for anyone who'd like to try their
hand at racing and benefit the Barbara
Ann Karmanos Institute for Melanoma
Research.
Curious speedsters are encouraged to
take a passenger seat in a racing car dur-
ing this fundraiser. Kenny the Car Guy,
aka Kenny Walters, owner of Mufflers
and More auto shop in Walled Lake and
a dedicated 3Balls member, says the
event features two days of racing plus
silent auctions and rides with 3Balls
instructors.
Last year, the guys raised $12,460.
This year, they're aiming to raise
$15,000 for Karmanos. Single day cost:
$215. Registration deadline is June 28.

Enter Yad Ezra's Holiday
Greeting Card Contest
For all children up to age 15 looking to
tap into their creative side, Yad Ezra is
sponsoring its annual Rosh Hashanah
Greeting Card Contest. Participants are
divided into four age categories — up to
age 6, ages 7-9, ages 10-12 and ages 13-15
— and must submit original designs that
incorporate themes of Rosh Hashanah.
The artists should use 8x10 paper and
mail their illustrations by July 8 to Yad
Ezra, 2850 W. 11 Mile Road, Berkley, MI
48072. Winning designs will be printed
as greeting cards and sold in time for the
holidays. So grab something bold and
bright to work with, and start drawing.
