Enough cannot be said
for the excellent service ...
Especially by waitresses whose
smiles and efficiency are highly
welcomed, particularly in help-
ing people start out their day
in a good mood ... Something
like this is priceless as is a place
like Keego Harbor's Early Bird
Cafe.

noted for having unique sushi

taurant on Michigan Avenue in Dearborn,
is also gaining much attention now for the
burger bar that it is featuring ... Numerous
styles of cheeses, berry aioli, roasted pep-
per, sweet onion, etc. ... plus roasted jala-
penos, smoked avocado and turkey bacon
... Crave's lunch and dinner menus are also
gaining much notice these days.
GOOD WAITRESS DEPT. ... Vickie
Frank, 25-year veteran at the Ram's Horn,
12 Mile east of Northwestern Highway,
Southfield, shows her experience each
time she serves orders to her customers
... Vickie knows how to smile and treats
clients with delightful efficiency.
QUESTION & ANSWER DEPT. ... "I
knew that Max and Erma's in Birmingham
closed, but I was surprised to find out that
the one on 14 Mile Road in Farmington
Hills was also closed. Both seemed to be
reasonably busy. Why did they close? I
see, too, that someone else is trying to
make a go out of the former Sero's on
Northwestern in Southfield. I hear it isn't
bad so will give it a try" ... Norman Miller.
[Both Max and Erma's locations were
victims of the numbers game used by most
chains ... Evidently being busy sure means
nothing to chains these days ... About the
new occupants at the former Sero's locale,
I'm told that R Family Dining has been
making returning friends.]

READER MINI REVIEW ... by Jerry
Silecchia ... "Mark Heckert and I ventured
to Miller's Bar on Michigan Avenue in
Dearborn. The menu is simple: ham-
burgers, cheeseburgers, grilled cheese
sandwiches and sides of onion rings or
French fries. Don't ask for grilled onions
at Miller's. Only a slice of raw onion is
served, and each table has the usual condi-
ments including a jar of sliced dill pickles.
"Mark and I ordered cheeseburgers,
nearly a half-pound of delicious freshly
ground beef, along with orders of fried
onion rings and French-fried shoestring
potatoes. Those who want beer on tap,
Miller's provides only two, Miller High Life
and Miller Lite.
"Nothing fancy about Miller's. Burgers
are served on wax paper and onion rings
and fries in small cardboard containers.
No silverware. And no bill after your meal
... After eating, tell a bartender at a sec-
tion of the bar what you had and he tells
you the total. Cash only, no credit cards"
THE NEW LOOK now sported by
noted University of Michigan cardiologist
Dr. Melvyn Rubenfire with a goatee gives
him an added appearance of distinction
to go with his heart-health reputation and
professor of internal medicine roles at the
university.
OLDIE BUT GOODIE DEPT. ... The
gent was showing off his new hearing aid
to a friend ... "I bought it yesterday and
it cost me more than $2,000, but it is the
best I have ever had" he excitedly said ...
"What kind is it?" asked his friend ... The
gent looked at his watch and said, "Half
past two"
