Nancy Kaufman Reinheimer, MA, CCC-SLP, director of Kaufman
Children's Center in West Bloomfield, just celebrated the 20th
anniversary of the center that began with just her and her answering
machine. She started by providing speech and language services
and soon realized that she would need to add occupational therapy
and sensory integration to the center to fully serve the children's
needs. Kaufman also has expansive programming for kids with autism
spectrum disorders and social skills groups.

The Abilities Center, West Bloomfield, a division of Detroit Institute for
Children, is also a provider of therapeutic services for children with
special needs. Specializing in sensory processing disorder, motor and
language delays, autism, cerebral palsy, ADHD, learning disabilities,
Down's syndrome and feeding difficulties, the Abilities Center is a
nonprofit and accepts various forms of insurance, including Medicaid.
