RODNEY ZIMMERMAN, 55,

of Phoenix, Ariz., formerly of
Southfield, died May 24, 2013.
He was a 1981 graduate of
University of Michigan in com-
puter science. After graduating,
he moved to San Francisco to
take a job as a system analyst
with Chevron. He also worked as
director of marketing at Gupta
Technologies before starting his
own business, Database Derby in
Berkley.
After moving to Creve Coeur,
Mo., he created the com-
pany, Dynalivery. In 2008, Mr.
Zimmerman published an online
article titled "Six Life Lessons from
Your Dad," for which he experi-
enced recognition, even appearing
on a local radio station to discuss
the article.
Mr. Zimmerman was a sports
enthusiast, a big fan of Richard
Pryor, The Godfather and a lover of
anything to do with the racetrack.
With his move to Phoenix, Ariz.,
he became interested in photog-
raphy.
He was the child of Susanne
Zimmerman, who resides in Santa
Barbara, Calif., and Herbert A.
Zimmerman, who predeceased
him. He was the grandson of
the late Peter and the late Jessie
Altman, and the late Israel and the
late Flora Zimmerman.
He is survived by his children,
Dr. Danielle Zimmerman and
Jonathan Zimmerman of Missouri;
brother, Stan Zimmerman of Los
Angeles, Calif.; sister, Leslie Breck;
and her family of Greenwich,
Conn.; the mother of his children,
Michele Zimmerman of St. Louis,
Mo.; other members of his family
and friends.
Interment was at Beth El
Memorial Park. Contributions may
