Patrick O'Rourke, who lost his life on Sept. 9, 2012, while answer- ing a domestic disturbance call, will be the Grand Marshal of this year's Memorial Day Parade in Keego Harbor. This year's Keego Harbor Memorial Day Parade will be held on Monday, May 27, beginning at 8:30 a.m. The 1-mile parade will begin at Abbott Middle School on Orchard Lake Road, continuing north on Cass Lake Road, concluding at the Keego Harbor City Hall with a ceremony honoring past and present members of the United States Armed Forces and those who serve in the protection of our community at 10 a.m. "We anticipate another large view- ing audience along the parade route. An estimated 5,000 people lined the city streets last year with many attending the Memorial Day cere- mony," said Keego Harbor Mayor Sid Rubin, the parade chairperson. The parade will be televised live to more than 20,000 homes and re- broadcast on Cable TV (Comcast channel 15). Fox 2 News sports reporter Woody Woodriffe will team up with Keego Harbor's Eric Gubka to narrate the parade from the view- ing stage at the corner of Cass Lake and Orchard Lake roads. Keego Harbor welcomes groups from surrounding areas to join the parade at no cost, including veterans, bicycle riders, walkers, organizations, schools, musical groups, clowns, cars, trucks, floats, motorcycles and ban- ner-carrying clubs as well as business leaders and elected officials.
