PHILLIP DEMBS, 86, of
Walled Lake, died May
16, 2013.
A residential builder,
Mr. Dembs was active
with Yad Ezra and was
a board member of
Congregation Beth Ahm.
Dembs
A Zionist, he had an
abiding love for the State of Israel and vis-
ited there more than 30 times. He exercised
one hour a day, five days a week.
Mr. Dembs is survived by his sons
and daughters-in-law, Rabbi Reuvan and
Shulamit Dembs of Israel, Howard and
Terri Dembs of West Bloomfield, Gary and
Jan Weiss Dembs of Huntington Woods,
Michael and Carrie Dembs of Berkley;
brother, Nelson Dembs; sister, Faye Jacobs;
grandchildren, Bradley, A.J. and Alicia, as
well as 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grand-
children in Israel; loving companion, Fran
Milgrom; her sons, Jeffrey, Scott and Randy
and their spouses; loving nieces, nephews,
many other relatives and friends.
Mr. Dembs was the beloved husband for
53 years of the late Ann Dembs; dear brother
and brother-in-law of the late Ann Dembs,
the late Sol and the late Rose Dembs, the late
Manuel and the late Micki Dembs.

Interment was held at Beth Abraham

RABBI MILTON "NAFTALI" DEUTSCH,

71, of Oak Park, died April 29, 2013.
He was a rabbi of Bais Yehudah, a prin-
cipal in New Jersey and Ohio, an active
member of Shomer Yisroel and Dovid Ben
Nochum.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years,
Reva Deutsch; son and daughter-in-law,
Joseph A. and Chumi Deutsch of Lakewood,
N.J.; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and
Aaron Cheifetz of Baltimore, Md.; sister,
Esther Levitin of Brooklyn, N.Y.; grandchil-
dren, Avi, Yuvi and Shira Cheifetz, Chayola,
Moshe, Yisroel, David, Shana, Esti, Sheva,
Ephriam and Miri Deutsch.

Rabbi Deutsch was the dear brother-in-
law of the late Sholom Levitin.
Contributions may be made to Yeshivah
Beth Yehudah, P.O. Box 2044, Southfield,
MI 48037. Interment was held at Floral Park
Cemetery in New Jersey. Arrangements by
Hebrew Memorial Chapel.

MADELYN LEDERER
FARRIS, 88, of West

Bloomfield, died May 14,
2013.
She was a tire-
less volunteer for the
Alzheimer's Association
for more than 25 years,
Farris
since the passing of her
husband, Bernard Farris. Mrs. Farris also
worked for more than 30 years as an execu-
tive secretary.
She is survived by her son and his
spouse, Dr. Michael Farris and Joseph Wert;
grandchildren, Josh Linkner, Jessica Farris,
Zoe Farris, Ethan Farris and Matan Farris;
great-grandchildren, Noah and Chloe
Linkner.
Mrs. Farris was the beloved wife of the
late Bernard Farris; the cherished mother of
the late Monica Farris Linkner.
Interment was at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery. Contributions may be made

DAVID GILDENBERG, 82, of Southfield,

died May 19, 2013.
He is survived by his daughter and
son-in law, Sheri and Jim Mocio of West
Bloomfield; sons and daughters-in-law,
Alan and Arlene Gildenberg of West
Bloomfield, Dr. Stuart and Suzanne
Gildenberg of West Bloomfield, Edward
and Nancy Gildenberg of Buffalo Grove, Ill.;
brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Philip and Pat
Gildenberg of Houston, Texas; grandchil-
dren, Elyse (Ryan) Jahnke, Eric Gildenberg,
Jamie, Melissa, Mitchell, Brenna, Ashley,
Corey Gildenberg, and Max and Kaitlyn
Mocio; many loving nieces, nephews, other
family members and friends.

JOYCE BORNSTEIN
GOLINSKY, 64, passed

away on May 17, 2013,
after a courageous battle
with ovarian cancer.
She lived in Atlanta,
Ga., for the past 40 years,
having been born and
Golinsky
raised in Detroit.
Mrs. Golinsky was a
unique character with a zest and passion for
life. She was lovable, loving and free spirited
and was known for her openness, optimism
and zany sense of humor. She earned two
degrees, one in teaching and one in art.
Among her varied careers, she taught
fourth grade as well as art. She was a busi-
ness woman, who, along with her husband,
Billy, owned and operated a retail business.
She was a talented and creative artist, who
has shown her work in Sandy Springs and
Buckhead with the art group Brushstrokes.
Mrs. Golinsky was a member of Song
of Atlanta Show Chorus for several years,
where she enjoyed singing, performing and
forming many lasting friendships.
A lover of animals, especially dogs, she
involved herself in finding homes for res-
cues. She was a fun-loving, wonderful aunt
to her nieces and nephews with whom she
had special relationships. She will be greatly
missed by all those who were fortunate
enough to know her.
Mrs. Golinsky is survived by her devoted
husband, Billy; her stepdaughter Lauren;
her loving sisters, Marjorie Bornstein (Sam),
Cheryl Simon (Ted), and Janis Segal (Uri);
her adored 11 nieces and nephews; nine
great-nieces and great-nephews; her precious
four-legged children, Lucy and Jersey.
She was the daughter of the late Edna
and the late Larry Bornstein.
Contributions may be made to Canine
Assistants or ovarian cancer research.
Interment was at Arlington Memorial Park.

May 16, 2013.

Jason and Emily Levin, Andrew and Caroline
Eisen, and Joshua and Pam Eisen; great-

Spencer Levin, Max Levin, Lara Levin, Lila
Eisen, Liam Eisen and Anika Eisen.
Mrs. Gould was the beloved wife of the
late Sydney Gould; the cherished mother-
in-law of the late Larry Levin; the loving
sister of the late Hyman Garsoff, the late
Morris Gorsoff and the late Betty Bresler;
the dear sister-in-law of the late Shirley
Garsoff, the late Pauline Gorsoff and the late
Al Bresler.
Interment was at Machpelah Cemetery.

FLORENCE KARLIN, 89, of Longwood

Fla., formerly of Farmington Hills, died on
May 13, 2013.
She is survived by her sons and daughter-

Fla., Ira Levy of Ann Arbor; grandchil-
dren, Ashley and David Levy, Joey (Blake)
Alsman and Gabriela Levy; great-grand-
children, Laney, Hadley, Lila and Bennett
Alsman.
Mrs. Karlin was the beloved wife of the
late Abraham Levy and the late Arnold
Karlin; the youngest sister of the late Morris
Migden, the late Jack Migdon, the late Lena
Kalman, the late Gertrude Saya, the late
Molly Pickett and the late Ruth Cohen.
