One description that I found poignant
was the story about what two young
Israeli soldiers thought of when they
first received their weapons. They felt
they were using them not to just pro-
tect themselves or to protect Israel, but
to protect Jews all over the world —
the Jewish nation!'
Goldstein said, "It's important for
the Jewish people to remember and
to make memories. The United States
can't be complacent about where we
are.
Annette Meskin, former Detroit
chapter president and member of
the Hadassah national board, said,
"Listening to Barbara renews my
energy and reaffirms my belief that
Israel is important in the lives of Jews
and to the world. I'm reminded about
why I do what I do and why we have to
continue our work supporting Israel!"

Hadassah Flashwaltz
Hadassah Hospital in EM Kerem,
outside of Jerusalem, is putting the
lobby of the new Sarah Wetsman
Davidson Tower to powerful use. In
a new fundraising video, students
from the Jerusalem Academy of
Music and Dance perform a flash
version — where musicians sud-
denly appear from all over the
lobby to form an orchestra — of a
Tchaikovsky waltz.
Patients in wheelchairs, hospital
workers and visitors are drawn to
watch and listen. A ballerina takes
off her coat and begins to dance
to the music. Smiles are evident
everywhere. It's a wonderful, upbeat
video — and, of course, there is a
button to click to lend support to
Hadassah Hospital. Check it out at
