Alexander Phillip
Kaner will celebrate
his bar mitzvah as he
reads from the Torah
Saturday, May 18, at
Temple Israel in
West Bloomfield. He
is the son of Dr.
Kaner
Leslie Woodell and
Roy Kaner. Sharing
in the simchah will be proud grandpar-
ents Frances Kaner and Melvin Kaner,
and Dorothy Woodell. Alex is also the
grandson of the late Allan Woodell.
Attending O.E. Dunckel Middle
School in Farmington Hills, Alex felt
that volunteering at COTS was a mitz-
vah project with special meaning to
him.
Tristan Kreindler,
son of Heidi and Jay
Kreindler, will
become a bar mitz-
vah on Saturday,
May 18, at Temple
Beth El in
Bloomfield
Kreindler
Township. He is the
brother of Tatum
and Chloe and the grandson of
Sharron and Alfred Kreindler, and the
late Glenda and late Paul Monteith.
Tristan is a seventh-grade student at
Derby Middle School in Birmingham.
One of his many mitzvah projects was
volunteering at Yad Ezra in Berkley.

Victoria Manning
Lurz will lead the
congregation at
Temple Israel in
West Bloomfield
Friday, May 17, as
she is called to the
bimah in celebration
Lurz
of her bat mitzvah.
Her proud parents are
Julie Manning and Olivier Lurz. Her
siblings Alexandre, Coco and Nicholas
and her grandparents Elaine and
Mervyn Manning, Christiane and
Robert Barondeau, and Uschi and Max
Lurz will share in the simchah. Her
great-grandmother is Madame Marie-
Therese Grand.
Victoria is a student at Berkshire
Middle School in Birmingham. She
participated in several mitzvah proj-
ects and felt volunteering at Gleaners
Food Bank was one of the most mean-
ingful.

Daniel
Raab (Hananya
Ze'ev) will celebrate
his bar mitzvah
Saturday, May 18, at
Congregation
Shaarey Zedek in
Southfield. He is the
Raab
son of Laurie and
Emil Raab and the
brother of Adam. Sharing in the sim-
chah will be his very proud grandpar-
ents Toby and Samuel Shapiro, and
Irene and Alexander Raab.
Ben attends O.E. Dunckel Middle
School in Farmington Hills. His most
meaningful mitzvah project was vol-
unteering with the Thursday Night
Social Group at the Jewish Community
Center.

Blake Charles
Rubenstein, son of
Shoshana
Rubenstein and
David Rubenstein
and brother of Dalia,
will be called to the
bimah at Temple
Rubenstein
Israel in West
Bloomfield Saturday,
May 18, as he becomes a bar mitzvah.
He is the grandson of Lynn and Dr.
Sidney Leib, Mariam Rubenstein and
the late Morris Rubenstein. He is also
the great-grandchild of the late
Rebecca and the late Hershel Stein.
Blake attends Orchard Lake Middle
School in West Bloomfield. He felt
it was very meaningful as a mitzvah
project to make blankets for distribu-
tion at animal shelters for abused and
neglected dogs.

Cole Peterson
Sucher will be called
to the bimah at
Temple Israel in
West Bloomfield
Friday, May 17, as he
reads from the Torah
in celebration of his
Sucher
bar mitzvah. He is
the son of Kristen
and Jonathan Sucher and the brother
of Catherine and Caroline. His grand-
parents Mary Peterson, and Sharon
and M. Marvin Sucher will share in
the simchah. Cole's late grandfather is
Ronald Peterson.
Cole is a seventh-grader at
Orchard Lake Middle School in West
Bloomfield. He volunteered to package
holiday goods for the West Bloomfield
Children's Fund as one of his mitzvah
experiences.
