s part of Federation Days last month, a
group joined Linda Yellin of Feet on the
Street Tours for a behind-the-scenes
tour of Detroit's Eastern Market. On this stroll-
ing-tasting tour, participants heard fun facts,
stories and history while enjoying shopping and
unique foods from around the world in Detroit's
very own local market.
Participants dodged rain for a special look
at Bert's Marketplace, a jazz club and restau-
rant on Russell Street, where they were treated
to a Detroit treasure in a back banquet room
— murals recent and past of Detroit's African
American history.
