A Bubblicious Time

Chabad of Commerce hosts an
animated Lag b'Omer celebration.

on "Bubble Man" Loyd amazed a crowd of
100 and incorporated them into a unique
show that brought ooh, aahs and a room
full of bubbles to the Chabad Jewish Center of
Commerce.
"[We] gathered to celebrate the holiday of Lag
b'Omer, a day of unity and community celebrations,"
said Estie Greenberg, co-director of the center with
her husband, Rabbi Schneor Greenberg.
The April 28 event included a barbecue lunch eaten
indoors, but cooked outside in the on-again, off-
again pouring rain.
Dubbed a "bubbleologist," Loyd created tiny
bubbles, human-sized bubbles and bubbles in
unexpected shapes. He taught how bubbles are made.
He bounced them, turned them into rings, filled
them with smoke and created bubbles inside other
bubbles.
"He made a magnificent show, showing all kinds
of magic that can be done with bubbles:' Greenberg
said. "After the show, the kids got to experiment with
the bubbles and blow bubbles with all sorts of wands.
One participant described the fun as having 'a unique
bubblicious
