Schechter Institute Seeks New President The Schechter Institute of Jewish Studies in Jerusalem has announced its search for a new president, as current president David Golinkin, plans to step down as head of the institution in summer 2014 in line with the bylaws of the institution and guidelines of the Council for Higher Education in Israel. Many improvements have been made to the Institute during his tenure. An international search commit- tee, comprised of board members, faculty and members of the general public, has been established to recruit a new president capable of promoting the academic status of the institution while leading it along a path of growth and continued financial stability. The position requires an indi- vidual with a strong vision for the future with a firm commitment to the Schechter mandate: disseminat- ing pluralistic Jewish studies to the greater Israeli public through edu- cational programs and leadership training, while promoting the cause of tolerance and dialogue between all sectors of Israeli society.
