Schechter Institute
Seeks New President
The Schechter Institute of Jewish
Studies in Jerusalem has announced
its search for a new president, as
current president David Golinkin,
plans to step down as head of the
institution in summer 2014 in line
with the bylaws of the institution
and guidelines of the Council for
Higher Education in Israel. Many
improvements have been made to
the Institute during his tenure.
An international search commit-
tee, comprised of board members,
faculty and members of the general
public, has been established to recruit
a new president capable of promoting
the academic status of the institution
while leading it along a path of growth
and continued financial stability.
The position requires an indi-
vidual with a strong vision for the
future with a firm commitment to
the Schechter mandate: disseminat-
ing pluralistic Jewish studies to the
greater Israeli public through edu-
cational programs and leadership
training, while promoting the cause
of tolerance and dialogue between all
sectors of Israeli society.
Candidates should contact the
presidential search committee:
