the engagement of their children, Jodi Erin
Satovsky and Stuart Michael Solomon.
Jodi graduated from Indiana University
with a bachelor of science degree in educa-
tion and earned her master's degree in the
art of teaching reading and language arts
from Oakland University. She is employed in
the Clawson Public School District.
Stuart graduated from Michigan State
University with a bachelor of arts degree in
finance and earned his master of business administration degree in supply chain
management from University of Wisconsin. He is the director of finance at Gas
Station TV in Birmingham.
A June wedding is planned at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield.

Alexandra Burg Shapiro and Michael Jeffrey
Waisanen.
Both Alexandra and Michael attended
Grand Valley State University, where they
received their undergraduate degrees in
health professions and biomedical sciences,
respectively. Alexandra attended Madonna
University, where she received accreditation
to practice as a registered dietitian. She is
employed through Beaumont Hospital.
Michael will receive his master's degree from Wayne State University as a
physician's assistant in May 2013.
The couple, along with their parents, will host family and friends at a
ceremony and reception at Barton Hills Country Club in Ann Arbor on Sept. 1.

Brotsky-Abrin
auren Judith Brotsky and Joseph
Benjamin Abrin were married
recently at Adat Shalom Synagogue
in Farmington Hills; Rabbi Herbert
Yoskowitz officiated.
Lauren is the daughter of Anna Samet and
Steven and Sarah Brotsky. Joseph "Joey" is
the son of Ilene and Marty Abrin.
Participating in the ceremony were hon-
ored grandparents of the groom Mary and
Allan Silverman. The bridesmaids were Leah
Brotsky, Sara Abrin, Rebecca Abrin and Ali
Greene; the groomsmen were Jacob Leflein,
Seth Harte, Sam Friedman and Yosef Klein.
The reception continued at Adat Shalom Synagogue, where the bride and
groom were entertained during their first hora by many friends and relatives
including flame juggling and schtik in their honor.
Lauren and Joey reside in Palm Beach, Fla., where Lauren is a Ph.D. candidate
at Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Fla., in the physical therapy program
and Joey is employed at the Federation of Palm Beach and Temple Beth Am in
Jupiter, Fla., where he is the director of youth engagement.
