JOSEPH H. SMITH, 77,

of Waterford, died
March 29, 2013.
He was born in 1935
in Detroit. Joseph was
a successful life insur-
ance agent and financial

counselor. He married
Smith
Janice (Ronald) Smith
c. 1963
in 1962, and they raised
their family in Oak Park
and then Southfield before moving to
Waterford. Joseph was a devoted husband,
father and grandfather who cherished time
with family and friends above all else. He
loved fishing, boating, being outdoors,
being active in the community and lending
a hand to neighbors. In his later years, he
developed a fondness for Texas Hold'em.
When it came to living and loving, Joseph
was
Mr. Smith is survived by his loving wife
of more than 50 years, Janice of Waterford;
three sons, Jeffrey of Fremont, Ind., Jay of
Clarkston and Justin of Boulder, Colo.; his
beautiful grandchildren, Joshua, Liana, Kai
and Audrey; sisters, Beatrice Sidman and
Betty Clahsen of West Bloomfield.
He was the son of the late Harry and the
late Ella (Rifkin) Smith.
Contributions may be made to an orga-
nization of one's choice. Interment was

held at the Adat Shalom Memorial Park
Cemetery in Livonia. Arrangements by
Dorfman Chapel.

ALFRED STEIN, 81, of

West Bloomfield, died
March 29, 2013.
He is survived by his
wife of 53 years, Judith
Stein; son and daughter-
in-law, Dr. Steven and
Debbie Stein of Sylvan
Stein
Lake; daughters and
sons-in-law, Sheryl and Eric Berke of
Toronto, Ontario, and Debra and Kevin
Spizizin of Bloomfield Hills; grandchildren,
Madeline and Jonah Stein, Aron and Jeremy
Berke, Jason, Ivan, Jacqueline and Nicole
Spizizen; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald
and Carolyn Stein of Miami, Fla., and Dr.
Sheldon and Jackie Stein of Las Vegas, Nev.;
sister, Beverly Bedol of Beechwood, Ohio;
many loving nieces and nephews.
He was the dear brother-in-law of the late
Justin Bedol.
Interment was at Adat Shalom
Memorial Park. Contributions may be

RENEE STONE of

She is survived by her
