lyse Reed Sklar and Dr. Siddarth
Thakur were married recently at
Temple Israel in West Bloomfield,
where the newlyweds are members. Rabbi
Paul Yedwab and Cantorial Soloist Neil
Michaels officiated.
Elyse and Siddarth were joined under the
chuppah by their parents, Beth and Robert
Sklar of Farmington Hills, and Drs. Rajbala
and Shivender Thakur of Rochester, N.Y.
Elyse's dear friend Ilana Levinson of New
York City was maid of honor. Siddarth's
brother, Dr. Dushyant Thakur of Syracuse,
N.Y., was best man. The bridal party includ-
ed Elyse's sister-in-law and brother, Paula and Joshua Sklar of Evanston, Ill.
Elyse is a Ph.D. student in clinical psychology, specializing in health psy-
chology, at Wayne State University. Siddarth is a transitional-year resident at
Crittenton Hospital Medical Center, Wayne State University School of Medicine.
He will do his physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at Baylor College
of Medicine in Houston, Texas, next year.
The newlyweds live in Royal Oak and honeymooned in Hawaii.

Ashley, a graduate of Michigan State
University School of Journalism, is a pro-
ducer for National Geographic Television in
Washington, D.C.
Peter, a graduate of the University of
Michigan, the University of Wisconsin Law
School and the Fletcher School of Law and
Diplomacy at Tufts University, is coun-
sel on the Committee on Oversight and
Government Reform in the U. S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C.
An August 2013 wedding is planned in Michigan.
