Holocaust Center Artist Is
2nd Generation Survivor
The Holocaust Memorial Center
Zekelman Family Campus (HMC) in
Farmington Hills will be displaying the
multimedia art exhibit "Where the Past
Meets the Future" by artist Fay Grajower
from March 15 through July 21.
The exhibit, which features 140
small-scale paintings and mixed media
pieces, revisits the vibrant Jewish life
in Poland before the Holocaust and
reflects hope and interest in contem-
porary Polish Jewish life and culture.
Grajower uses her acquired memories
of her mother and siblings' experienc-
es to work through issues of the past.
Eleven other works by Grajower,
including two very large-scale paint-
ings, oil on canvas works and paintings
on vinyl, among other mixed-media
pieces, also will be on display. Grajower's
works have been featured in galleries and
museums in the U.S., Poland, Mexico,
Switzerland and Germany.
"When we decide which exhibits we
would like to display in our museum,
we want to make sure that whatever is
brought in will leave our visitors with
a sense of history, social responsibility
and morality," said Holocaust Memorial
Center Executive Director Stephen
