of Highland Beach,
Fla., died Feb. 23,
2013.
He is survived
by his beloved wife
Mendelson
of 62 years, Freda
Mendelson; daughter and son-in-law,
Ilyne Mendelson and Steven Terk of
Florida; son and daughter-in-law, Rick
and Lori Mendelson of Colorado; sis-
ters, Mollie Moglovkin of Oak Park and
Helen Glass of Southfield.
Mr. Mendelson was the dear brother-
in-law of the late Ben Moglovkin, the
late Max Glass and the late Paul Caplan.
Interment was at Hebrew Memorial
Park. Contributions may be made to
Hospice by the Sea, 1531 W. Palmetto
Park Road, Boca Raton, FL 33486-3395.

SARAH NEMON,
91, of Farmington
Hills and Tamarac,
Fla., died peacefully
on Feb. 20, 2013.
She was a devoted
wife and mother.
She was the head
bookkeeper at
Jewish Family Service until retire-
ment. Mrs. Nemon was a committed
volunteer in the Jewish community.
She was a life member of Hadassah
and Na'amat and a supporter of the
Women's League for Israel, a life mem-
ber and passionate volunteer with the
Jewish War Veterans Ladies Auxiliary
(JWVA), where she held the positions
of Green Auxiliary president, Michigan
Department president and, finally,
national president of JWVA.
Mrs. Nemon is survived by her hus-
band of 68 years, John Nemon; daugh-
ter and son-in-law, Ruth and James
Grey of Farmington Hills; sons and
daughters-in-law, Dr. Barry Nemon
and Barbara Stark-Nemon of Ann
Arbor, Dr. Howard and Pamela Nemon
of Asheville, N.C.; daughter, Marsha
Nemon of Walled Lake; grandchildren,
Rachel and Dr. Jason Ellis, Emily and
Jordan Berman, Adam Nemon, Eric
and Christine Nemon, Nathan Nemon,
Justin Nemon, Alicia Nemon; great-
grandchildren, Shira, Ari and Noam
Ellis, Jonah, Livie and Daisy Berman,

and Connor Nemon; many other lov-
ing family member and friends.
She was the beloved grandmother of
the late Jeffrey Grey.
Interment was held at Hebrew
Memorial Park. Contributions may

SHIRLEY OBRON,
82, of Franklin, died
Feb. 21, 2013.
She was born in
Far Rockaway, N.Y.,
to Frank and Irene
Strauss. She later
moved to the Detroit
Obron
area, where she met
her beloved husband, Henry Obron.
They shared 35 wonderful years
together until Henry's death in 1987.
She was a devoted mother to Cindy
Kahn (Dr. Marc) and Dr. Jeffrey Obron
(Lynne); a loving grandmother to
Jennifer and Emily Kahn, Elyse and
Jacob Obron. She is also survived by
brother, Robert Strauss, and many
other loving family members and
friends.
Interment was at Adat Shalom
Memorial Park. Contributions may be

ANN "HONEY" ONICKEL, 86, of
West Bloomfield, died Feb. 22, 2013.
She is survived by her daughters
and sons-in-law, Janice and Tom Fixler
of Walled Lake, Karen and Ramiz
Allawala of Houston, Texas, Jerry
Catalina; brother and sister-in-law,
Donald and Joan Weintraub; grand-
children, Jeffrey and Dita Fixler, Lisa
and Erik Sorenson, Alina Allawala,
Alisa Allawala, Zachary Allawala,
Andrea and Robert Bohlen; great-
grandchildren, Sela Fixler, Benjamin
Fixler, Kaya Allawala.
Mrs. Onickel was the beloved wife of
the late Irving Onickel; loving mother
of the late Linda Catalina; dear sister
and sister-in-law of the late Pearl
Venefsky and the late Joseph Venefsky.
Contributions may be made to a
cancer- related charity of one's choice.
Services and interment were held at
Hebrew Memorial Park. Arrangements
