She was born in Pappas Philadelphia to Jack c. 1970 Tobin and Hortense Sternberg on Sept. 11, 1930, and moved to Detroit as a teenager. She graduated from Edwin Denby High School and attended Wayne State University as a fine arts major. It was there she met and mar- ried Raymond Harold Glassman. They had one son, Anthony.
