A World War II Army veteran, Mr. Garmel was a member of the Irwin Steinberg Post of Jewish War Veterans. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Candice and William Marra of Farmington Hills; brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Donna Garmel of West Bloomfield; grand- children, Shawn, Scott, Stacy. He was predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Evelyn Garmel, who died Jan. 17, 2013. Contributions may be made to Yad Ezra, 2950 W. 11 Mile, Berkley, MI 48072.
