Hills, died Jan. 17, 2013.
He is survived by his beloved wife,
Dorothy Mendelsohn Applebaum; daugh-
ters and son-in-law, Laurie Ordin of San
Rafael, Calif., Nancy and Jeff Rodgers of
Farmington Hills; son, Richard Applebaum
of Warren; and other children, Barry
(Laura) Mendelsohn, Todd Mendelsohn,
Warren (Mindy) Mendelsohn; grandchil-
dren, Michael (Rebecca) Ordin, Adam
Ordin, Erick (Miriam) Ordin, Ashleigh
(Yoni) Rubinsky, Julie (Gavin) LaKritz,
Robert Rodgers, Jamie Rodgers; great-
grandchildren, Dylan, Matthew, Samuel.
Mr. Applebaum was the husband of the
late Helen Applebaum; the father-in-law of
the late David Ordin.

at Hebrew Memorial Park Cemetery in

Lina Small, the late Sylvia Lee, the late
Helen Linden; the dear sister-in-law of the
late Irving Small, the late Norman Lee and
the late Joseph Linden.

ARLINE D'AGOSTINO, 79, of Atlanta,
Ga., died Jan. 19, 2013.
It should be known that Arline's entire
world revolved around her family, loving
and doting on grandchildren, children and
husband alike. She was a natural caregiver
whose favorite times were large family
functions, where she could tend to and take
care of the whole family all at once. Quick
to smile and quicker to laugh, she walked
through life with a brilliant vibrancy and
more love than one heart should be able to
hold. She is loved dearly and will be missed
greatly.
She is survived by her loving husband
of 54 years, Joseph D'Agostino; sons
and daughters-in-law, Jeremy and Lisa
D'Agostino, Mark and Lynn D'Agostino,
Steve and Jennifer D'Agostino; brothers
and sisters-in-law, Rodney and Priscilla
Finegold, Marvin and Kathleen Finegold;

MARY SCHIFF CANTOR, 102, of Oak
Park, formerly of Huntington, W.Va., died
Dec. 29, 2012.
She was the beloved wife of the late
Jerome Cantor; daughter of the late
Samuel and the late Rachel Kapul Schiff.
She was also predeceased in death by four
sisters and three brothers.
She was the loving mother of Rena
Cantor Steirn of West Bloomfield, Robert
(Gail) Cantor of Sun Lakes, Ariz., and
Shirley Cantor Sweet of Huntington
Woods; much loved nine grandchildren;
15 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-
grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held in Huntington,

JAMES L.
HERRINGTON, 84, of
Longboat Key, Fla., for-
merly of Farmington
Hills, passed away Jan. 3,
2013.
Mr. Herrington was
a longtime reporter
Herrington
for Channel 7 News in
Detroit, specializing in politics. He was
also the host of the public affairs show
Spotlight on the News for more than two
decades. His coverage of the 1967 riots
in Detroit won him awards from the
American Federation of Television and
Radio Artists and the Detroit Press Club.
He retired from Channel 7 in 1993.
He was also a board member of WEDU
Tampa Public TV and member of Temple
Beth Israel. He was also actively involved
with Ringling College of Art & Design,
Asolo Theatre and Media Roundtable.
Mr. Herrington was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He was predeceased by his mother,
June Herrington; and his stepson, Jeffrey
Camiener.
Mr. Herrington is survived by his life-
long best friend, Carol Camiener; sons,
James L. Herrington VI (Maria) and
Douglas Herrington (Lori); daughters,
Lauren Guzzardo (Robert), Nancy Gross
(Paul) and Emily Camiener; daughter-
in-law, Thais Herrington; grandchildren,
Jimmy, Alex, Maris, Lindsey, Olivia,
Nicolas, Jared, Adam, Miles and Hugh.
A memorial service will be held Sunday,
Jan. 27, at 4 p.m. at Temple Kol Ami in
West Bloomfield. Contributions may be
