She aspired to be a teacher; however, her formal education was disrupted by the Holocaust and placement in labor Sidy Weiss camps and Auschwitz. Nevertheless, she taught valuable life lessons and positively influenced those she interacted with. She was a volunteer HOTrIUST Sutiron, for more than 25 years with the Sinai Guild, and volunteered for the JVS Senior Corps. She also was a fundraiser for CARI and was a member of Young Israel of Oak Park. Mrs. Weiss is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Allan and Carol Weiss of Farmington Hills; daughter and son- in-law, Marlene and David Kerstein of Northbrook, Ill.; grandchildren, Steven Kerstein, Arin Kerstein; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Weiss was the beloved wife for 41 years of the late Steven Weiss; dear sister and sister-in-law of the late Edith and the late Shonny Bruck. She was prede- ceased by her parents, two brothers and a sister as well as other family members who perished during the Holocaust.
