NORMA HARPAZ,

69, of Huntington
Woods, died Jan. 4,
2013.
She received
a M.S.W. and
A.C.S.W. and
became a teacher
HarPaz
and talented vocal-
ist. She also was a licensed insurance
professional, a member of National
Association of Social Workers and
Congregation Shaarey Zedek.
She is survived by her husband
of 47 years, Dr. Natan HarPaz;
daughter and son-in-law, Daniella
HarPaz and Igor "Gabe" Mechnikov
of Huntington Woods; son and
daughter-in-law, Michael and Natalie
HarPaz of Israel; grandchildren,
Pelli Mechnikov, Lev Mechnikov,
Mia Mechnikov, Hallel HarPaz, Hod
HarPaz; sister-in-law and brother-
in-law, Raya and Avram Gontovnik;
nieces, nephews, cousins and an
involved and loving extended net-
work of family and close friends.
Mrs. HarPaz was the loving daugh-
ter of the late Guchia Wiernick
Gruenstein and the late Mordechai
Wiernick.
Contributions may be made to
Hillel Day School, 32200 Middlebelt,
Farmington Hills, MI 48334; Frankel
Jewish Academy of Metro Detroit,
6600 W. Maple, West Bloomfield, MI
48322; or Friends of Israel Defense

held at Hebrew Memorial Park.

PHYLLIS KAPLAN, 84, of
Huntington Woods, died Jan. 6, 2013.
Mrs. Kaplan was a constant sup-
porter of a multitude of worthwhile
charities. The family will always
remember the joy she brought to
their lives and will hold her memory
close in their hearts to treasure
always.
She is survived by her daugh-
ters and son-in-law, Audrey and
Dr. Larry Sobel of Paradise Valley,
Ariz., Julie Stark of Scottsdale, Ariz.;
granddaughter, Ashley Sobel and
fiance, Jeremy Leonard.
Mrs. Kaplan was the beloved
wife of 53 years of the late Sheldon
Kaplan; dear sister and sister-in-law,
the late Dr. Arthur and the late Elsie
Cherney, the late Fred and the late
Marilyn Cherney.
Contributions may be made to a
charity of one's choice. Services and
interment were held at Machpelah
Cemetery in Ferndale. Arrangements
by Hebrew Memorial Chapel.

NEIL KRENTZIN, 65, of Goodyear,

Ariz., died Dec. 27, 2012.
He is survived by his wife, Judi;
his sister and brother-in-law, Claudia
and Ken Been; brother and sister-in-
law, Bernie and Melinda Krentzin;
nephew, Paul (Maryn) Been;
and niece, Laura Been (Andrew
Golaszewski).
Interment was in Phoenix, Ariz.
Contributions in his memory can
be made to the American Diabetes
Association.

FLORENCE
LANDMAN, 90, of
Commerce
Township, died Dec.
29, 2012.
She is survived by
her daughters and

sons-in-law, Audrey
Landman
and Michael Levin,
Judy and Arnie Rautbort; son and
daughter-in-law, Benny and Karen
Landman; sister, Deenie Stulberg;
grandchildren, Rebecca and Jamie
Landman, Carrie and Jeffrey Levin,
Alan (Lori) Rautbort, Stacey (Jon)
Block, Dana (Seth) Singerman;
great-grandchildren, Ethan, Asher,
Katie, Noah, Harrison, Sloan and
Grant; many loving cousins, nieces,
nephews, other family members and
friends.
Mrs. Landman was the beloved
wife of the late Sam Landman; the
sister of the late Goldie (the late
Benny) Feldman.
Contributions may be made to the
Alzheimer's Association, Hospice
of Michigan or to a charity of one's
choice. Interment took place at the
Adat Shalom Cemetery in Livonia.
Arrangement by Dorfman Chapel.

HELEN LUTZ, 73, of West
Bloomfield, died Dec. 27, 2012.
She is survived by her son, Craig
Lutz of Grand Rapids; daughter and
son-in-law, Nicole Lutz and Daniel
Weiss of West Bloomfield; sister,
Irene Haynes; sister-in-law, Muriel
Bartick; grandchildren, Aidan Lutz,
Alexander Weiss, Andrew Weiss and
Joshua Weiss; many other family
members and friends.
Mrs. Lutz was the sister of the late
Milton Bartick; the sister-in-law of
the late Jack Haynes.
Interment took place at the Adat
Shalom Memorial Park Cemetery in
Livonia. Contributions may be made
to Camp Mak-A-Dream or to a char-
ity of one's choice. Arrangements by
Dorfman Chapel.
