Enchanted Evening

JARC's annual fall fundraiser draws mix of young adults and older generation.

I

t was a spellbinding evening at JARC's
32nd annual fall fundraiser late last
year. Nearly 3,000 partygoers joined
event chairs Lindsay Dembs of Franklin,
David Haron of Farmington Hills and
Janis Shulman of Farmington Hills, and
fundraising adviser Sharon Eisenshtadt
of Bloomfield Hills for the critically
acclaimed Cirque Dreams Enchanted
Evening performance at Detroit's Fox
Theatre.
More than 80 businesses and thou-
sands of individual donors came together
to support JARC's event. Quicken Loans,
Title Source Inc. and Gilbert Films-Gary

Gilbert served as the event's corporate
presenting sponsors. Guests also enjoyed
the premiere of "JARC For A Lifetime"
video presentation, produced by Fran
Victor and Bill Harder of Evolution
Media.
Before the show began, JARC President
Ron Applebaum said, "Certain compo-
nents of JARC have not changed. We con-
tinue to have a large enthusiastic group
of young adults who have embraced
JARC. These adults are the future of
JARC and, in a larger sense, the com-
munity. Thankfully, our commitment to
be there for people with disabilities and

their families has not changed. JARC con-
tinues to provide loving gentle care — the
same we would want for ourselves or a
family member:'
This year's sold-out Young Adult/
Corporate Sponsor pre-glow Dream
Lounge featured a strolling supper from
Quality Kosher Catering.
Underwritten by Quicken Loans, the
pre-glow drew more than 300 guests
and was chaired by Michelle and Aaron
Bass of Bloomfield Hills, Elissa and
Jason Miller of Farmington Hills, and
Alyssa and Josh Tobias of Farmington
Hills. ❑
