Obituaries
ROSE SCHAFER BERK, 96, of Duarte,
Calif., died Dec. 12, 2012. Rose was
born in Detroit and was formerly a resi-
dent of Southfield.
She is survived by her daughters and
son-in-law, Ellyn Halpert, and Enid and
Robert Isaacson of California; grand-
children, Melissa (Jason) Debczak,
Peter (Dena) Isaacson, Catherine
(Robert) Moore, David Isaacson, Sally
Isaacson and Eric Halpert; great-
grandchildren, Charles Debczak, Olivia
Debczak, Greyson Debczak, Adam
Godoi, Gabriel Godoi, Paul Isaacson
and Rebecca Rose Isaacson.
Rose was the beloved wife of the late
David Berk and sister of the late Max
Schafer.

was at Beth El Memorial Park in
Livonia. Arrangements by Dorfman

DR. OSCAR BIGMAN, 89, died Dec.
3, 2012.
He was born in Detroit, June 12,
1923, and buried in Ra'anana, Israel.
He was a man of humility, humanity,
honesty and humor. He loved his family
and was proud of all of them. It pleased
him when they discussed their school-
ing, work, ambitions with him. He was
