Adat Shalom gets in the
Chanukah groove early
with concert and more.

dat Shalom families came
together for a gala preview of
Chanukah on Sunday, Dec. 2.
The afternoon was highlighted by a spir-
ited Chanukah concert featuring Sam
Glaser, plenty of latkes supplied by the
Farmington Hills synagogue's Men's Club
and dancing to the lively tunes of Joe
Cornell Entertainment.
Adat Shalom youth sing out with internationally known performer/composer Sam Glaser and Adat Shalom's own Hazzan Dan Gross.
The Adat Shalom Men's Club served up
Hand-decorated cookie creations by 10-year-old pastry chefs:

PJs, iizza And Stories
Beth Shalom children also had time for
dancing, crafts, and milk and cookies.

tudents at Congregation Beth Shalom's Gan Shalom preschool
in Oak Park gathered with their friends and parents on Nov.
28 for "PJs, Pizza and Bedtime Stories:' Dressed in their paja-
mas, more than 35 children enjoyed a pizza dinner and then joined Gan
Shalom teacher Suzi Katkowski in the library, where she read them the
story, Giraffes Can't Dance by Giles Andrea.
Of course, kids can dance, so after the story, Katkowski and Gan Shalom
Director Lauren Blitz led the children in a dance. Before the children went
home to bed, they enjoyed a craft as well as milk and cookies.
