As a result of the recent crisis in Israel, millions of Israelis have struggled
with the physical, emotional and psychological impact of living under
siege from rocket fire streaming into the south from terrorists in the
Gaza Strip.

Federation and its partners on the ground, including the Jewish Agency
for Israel, the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee and World
ORT, have recently provided support and relief in a variety of ways:

Recreational Day Respite Services: This effort brought safety

and emotional relief to over17,500 Israeli children, while providing their
parents with needed respite.

Emergency Case Workers: Caseworkers provided 50,000 elderly

and disabled individuals with emotional and physical support, allowing
them to remain in their homes for the duration of the emergency.

Hot lines: As many as a 1,000 callers per day were provided with

-

accessible emotional support and guidance for diverse populations in
the South.

Victims of Terror (VOT) Fund: A $1 million immediate response

mechanism was created to answer urgent needs of citizens whose lives
were profoundly disrupted by terror and armed conflict.

These are just a few of the services Federation and its partners
provided to vulnerable populations in Israel. In total, hundreds of
thousands of lives have been impacted by our support.

You can join us in our ongoing support for the people of Israel by
giving to our Annual Campaign.

Emergency Kits for the elderly and disabled: At least 2,000
elderly and 1,000 disabled individuals were provided with kits that
included a flashlight, transistor radio, first aid kit and bottled water.
