Friendship Circle Honors
The Late Dr. Jeffrey Farkas
Friendship Circle of West Bloomfield
honored the life of Dr. Jeffrey Farkas
by dedicating the doctors' office in
Weinberg Village as Farkas Pediatrics
and posting his Wayne State Medical
School diploma and nameplate on
Friday, Oct. 26. Dr.
Farkas was murdered
at age 26 in December
1989, while doing his
residency in Pediatrics
at Children's Hospital
in Pittsburgh.
Dr. Farkas was
Dr. Jeffrey
a graduate of West
Farkas
Bloomfield High

School and did his undergraduate work
at the University of Michigan. On the
day he was murdered, he had been
helping a friend get his car started, and
when he returned to his house he came
face-to-face with an intruder who took
his life. His killer was apprehended, tried
and sentenced to life in prison.
The dedication of the doctor's office in
the Weinberg Village as the Jeffrey Farkas
Pediatric Care office was made possible
by a contribution to Friendship Circle
by Connie Farkas and her husband, Don
Wood, who attended the dedication.
Dr. Farkas' father, Jerry, resides in
Pittsburgh. A ceremony for family and
friends will be held in the spring of
2013.
