Miracles & Fate on 78
A 9/11 Story of Inspiration

Potboiler

ifiti

Everyone knows someone like Arthur
Pfefferkorn. He's that guy who never really"lived up to
his potential." He wanted to be a writer but ended up
a ho-hum college professor, now middle-aged and at
the bottom of his game.

On September 11, 2001, Ari Schonbrun went
to his office at Cantor Fitzgerald - the Wall Street firm
that occupied the top five floors of Tower One in the
World Trade Center. He was on the 78th floor when
the first plane hit. In the midst of smoke and chaos,
Schonbrun found a co-worker who was terribly burned
and needed help to walk down the stairs.

POTBOILER

Even his love life is about as exciting as warmed-up
oatmeal.

Then Arthur learns that his oldest friend William de
Vallee - now a bestselling author and the husband of the woman Arthur
loved - has vanished.

Of 662 Cantor employees in the building that day,
only four survived.

Ari believes that God was looking out for him; 9/11 began his rebirth.
No longer focused on career and the"wrong" things, he began putting his
family first, volunteering, giving back to the community and focusing on
what matters most in life.

Of course, Arthur is troubled...but at the same time he can't forget
everything that William enjoyed that he never had.

Finally, Arthur decides to reconnect with William's wife - which is about to
take them to both to a surprising world of intrigue and the unexpected.

Francine Hermelin Levite's career includes magazinewriting, children's
software developer, graphic design.

Soon before President Bill Clinton named her
secretary of state, Madeleine Albright learned
of her Jewish ancestry. She didn't hear the facts
from her parents or family; she discovered the
truth from a Washington Post reporter. The
revelation, she said, left her"shocked."

She also provides extraordinary insight
into the Czech psyche and takes on, in her typical cut-to-the-chase
style, current political issues. Of the infamous 2009 "Open Letter"to
President Barack Obama, in which European politicians lambasted the
lack of Transatlantic ties, she writes: "We all worked to have Europe
whole and free. The first President Bush said it, President Clinton said it,
and I said it, over and over again. It was a theme.

Albright tells of her many ancestors murdered
by the Nazis and of the ones who survived: her
parents, who managed to flee Czechoslovakia
only to return after the war and then leave
again after the Communists took over.

Fifty-seven of the greatest myths from rock and country music are debunked -
or proven, at last, to be true - by two of today's greatest music journalists.
