PHIL ROTHSCHILD, 93, died peacefully
in the early morning of Sept. 26, 2012. He
will be sorely missed.

SOL RUBIN, 89, of
Southfield, died Sept. 27,
2012. Sol was a man
whose life of kindness,
grace and dignity was a
triumph over the evil
that was visited upon
him during the war.
He is survived by his daughter, Denise
Rubin of New York, N.Y.; son and daugh-
ter-in-law, Brian Rubin and Dr. Wendy
Frankel of Hilliard, Ohio; sister-in-law
and brother-in-law, Sonia and Frank
Shaenboen of West Bloomfield; brother-
in-law and sister-in-law, Dr. Seymour and
Jane Weiner; many loving nieces, nephews,
other family members and friends.
Mr. Rubin was the beloved husband of
the late Helen Rubin.

took place at the Machpelah Cemetery

NORMAN SAULLES,
85, former Detroiter of
Scottsdale, Ariz., died
Sept. 22, 2012.
He is survived by his
loving wife of 65 years,
Anne Saulles. He was the
father of Dana and Fred
Saulles
Gibson, Cheryl and Rick
Kirsch, Ronnie and Ian Saulles; grandfa-
ther of Amy Kirsch, Danny Kirsch, Adam
Saulles, Scott Kirsch and Randi Saulles;
brother-in-law of Jeanette Rosen, Dorothy
Saulles, Max Pleasant and Larry Cohen.
His devoted caregivers were Marie and
Myleen and their family.
Mr. Saulles was the brother of the late
Chuck Saulles, the late Bea Pleasant, the
late Rae Cohen, and the late Irene Saulles;
brother-in-law of the late Bill Rosen.
Services and interment were held in

DAWN SELIGSON, 47,
of Walled Lake, died
Sept. 24, 2012.
She was an All-
American swimmer at
Auburn University and
the University of South
Florida and was the co-
Seligson
captain of the Division
2 NCAA Women's Championship team at
South Florida that was inducted into the
Hall of Fame.
Mrs. Seligson is survived by her hus-
band, Steven Seligson; sons, Cory and
Tyler Seligson; parents, Kathleen and Cliff
Hewitt; brother and sister-in-law, Tim
and Nicole Hewitt; grandmother, Doris
McIntyre; niece and nephew, Maddy
Hewitt and Tim Hewitt. She is also sur-
vived by Stevens children, Emily and Ben
Smith, and Rachel and Gabe Molner.
Mrs. Seligson was the daughter of the

late Ted McIntyre.

HARRY SHAPIRO, 94, of Southfield and
Glenview, Ill., died Sept, 27, 2012.
He was born in rural Mendota, Ill., in
1917. After serving in World War II, he
married Ann Lipton and earned a B.A.
from the University of Chicago. He had
a long, successful career in banking in
Chicago, rising to the position of execu-
tive vice president of the Madison Bank.
He and Ann had children, Cynthia, Linda,
Steven and Laurie, in Chicago and Skokie,
lived later in Glenview and in 2011 moved
to Southfield.
Mr. Shapiro is survived by his wife,
Ann, daughter, Linda Gold (Steve); grand-
children, Sara (Dan Brooks) and Daniel
(engaged to Danielle Liebowitz); his
brothers, Sam and Abe (Vivian); his sister,
Bernice Will; many loving nieces, nephews
and friends.
