Dr. Robert Matthews at the JCC in
West Bloomfield
Jewish sports memorabilia is on display
at the Jewish Community Center in
West Bloomfield.
The items are from the collection of
Dr. Robert Matthews of Farmington Hills.
Included are a baseball bat signed by for-
mer Detroit Tigers star Hank Greenberg,
a Sports Illustrated magazine with ex-Los
Angeles Dodgers pitcher Sandy Koufax
on the cover that's signed by Koufax,
and a canceled check from Moe Berg, a
former major-league catcher who later
became a spy for the U.S. government.
Matthews' collection, located at the
"corner of Koufax and Greenberg:' is
continuously changing and can be seen
during regular business hours.
Time For A Scoreboard

boys and girls soccer games at Keith
Elementary School in West Bloomfield

Fans, players and coaches can now
check a portable scoreboard to see the
score and how much time is remaining
in the half. The scoreboard is operated
