October is National Orthodontic Health Month! Ask the Orthodontist Samuel Alexander Myers of Huntington Woods will read from the Torah as a bar mitzvah at Temple Emanu El in Oak Park Friday, Sept. 28. Very proud Myers parents, Lisa and Bruce Myers; older brother, Jacob; grandparents, Mandy and Raymond Hesano, Nancy and Marty Myers; and great-grandmothers, Adele Levine and Habeeba Hesano, will share in the simchah. Sam is an eighth-grade student at Norup International School in Oak Park. For a mitzvah project, he enjoyed working with children at the Jewish Community Center day camp. Brandon Jay Solomon, son of Bonnie and Spencer Solomon, will read from the Torah at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield Saturday, Sept. 29, in Solomon celebration of his bar mitzvah. He is the brother of Hannah and the grandchild of Shelly and Herb Sokolm, and Lauri and Steve Solomon, and the great- grandchild of Shirlee and George Ingber. Brandon is a student at West Hills Middle School in Bloomfield Hills. He felt delivering food to people in need through Yad Ezra in Berkley was a meaningful mitzvah project. Ethan Parker Neuvirth of Bloomfield Hills will become bar mitzvah at Temple Shir Shalom in West Bloomfield on Saturday, Sept. 29. Parents Jill and Dennis Neuvirth, and little sister Libby are all thrilled to celebrate with him. Her grandparents Pat Ribiat, and Carolyn and Arnold Gordon will share in the simchah. Avery is the daughter of Jennifer and Steven Ribiat and the sis- ter of Eli and Blake. She is also the granddaughter of the late Carol Gordon and the late Sara and Dr. Laurence Ribiat, Avery is a student at Orchard Lake Middle School in West Bloomfield. Her mitzvah project involves volunteer work with Guardian Angel Animal Rescue. Cara Brooke Walters will cele- brate her bat mitz- vah as she is called to the bimah at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield Friday, Sept. 28. She Cara Walters is the daughter of Gina and Kenneth Walters and the sister of Benjamin. Cara is a seventh-grader at Clifford Smart Middle School in Walled Lake. Being able to help children at West Bloomfield-based Friendship Circle was the highlight of her mitzvah expe- riences. During October, members of the American Association of Orthodontists (MO) conduct a wide range of activities to educate orthodontists and their patients about protecting their teeth during Halloween, as well as share information about the benefits of orthodontic treatment.
